Senior Geophysicist

Teck Corporation is a major Canadian resource company with mining operations 
across Canada and overseas. A Senior Geophysicist is required in its Head 
Office in Vancouver.
 
Responsibilities include advising on the appropriate geophysical methods and 
procedures for exploration projects, ensuring and maintaining the quality, 
integrity and cost effectiveness of the contracted work, and interpreting 
results interactively with geologists and other geophysical consultants. 

The successful candidate will possess a B Sc in Geophysics, ten years of 
practical experience in mineral exploration, including background in a 
variety of Cu, Zn, and Au deposit types, and understanding of different 
weathering environments and cover conditions. Experience dealing with 
contractors, ground methods - IP, gravity, magnetics and EM, large airborne 
surveys - magnetics and EM is required, as well as excellent communication 
skills and the ability to work with a multi-national group of 
explorationists. An awareness of current geophysical research and emerging 
methods is important, and experience with down-hole geophysics and spoken 
Spanish are definite assets.
