Dear Colleagues:

I have been queried as to what I think the level of geophysical expenditures
are for the minerals exploration industry. The SEG used to try and track
this but gave up when they could not get enough stats to make for a sensible
tally. Added to the fun of making a guesstimate on geophysics, the industry
totals for exploration have also declined a lot in the past 5 years. This
said, I thought as a percentage of total activity (whatever number that is)
geophysics (talking the total box & dice here; airborne, ground surveys,
people, equipment & data sales) would be about 8% of that total. Any one
prepared to refine this further? (via whatever means; goat entrails or even
real stats).

Regards

Ken
