Thanks Jean

I see the discussion at the end regarding hosting material by UBC and Geosoft. The ASEG currently have the presentations from nine workshops up on the website so if UBC withdraw their support then transferring the material or even mirroring it at ASEG is an easy option. https://www.aseg.org.au/continuous-education/workshop-proceedings

Obviously ASEG isn't in a position to record or host the web meetings for KEGS but if KEGS could organise that part then ASEG would be happy to curate and host the podcasts. We have started on this journey in a Micky Mouse way but recording local branch meetings is something the FedEx are encouraging. https://www.aseg.org.au/aseg-videos. I think we're doing OK on the video part but we need to work on the audio.  I'd note that the platform Geosoft use to broadcast the meetings live does not work on Linux which was why ASEG and presumably SEG, selected Zoom which works across all mobile and desktop OS's  Being locked to Windows is unlikely to be an issue for Northern Americans but the rest of the world and Europe, India and China (and the Democratic Republic of Wangara!) in particular, are moving on.

Finally I'll let everyone know that Dave Isles and Lee Rankin have decided to make their aeromag interp e-book freely available. https://www.aseg.org.au/publications/geological-interpretation-aeromagnetic-data

Speaking of which I will remind anyone and everyone who’s interested that the *SEG Expanded Abstract deadline is Monday April 1^st , 2019*.

Details can be found at www.seg.org <http://www.seg.org>.

As a reminder to anyone submitting mining geophysics themed abstracts that you should specify “Mining Session”.

And for those attending SEG 2019 this Fall, MG and Grav-Mag will be co-hosting a special workshop honouring Geophysics Giant Misac Nabighian to be held on Thursday, Sept-19 morning.  We encourage all MG members attending SEG 2019 to stay on an extra day to attend this workshop.  Anyone interested in more details can contact me or Aline Melo Tavares ([email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>).

More news to follow.
