The last five years has been quite tough on our service sector and things are still challenging as GEDEX, a company focused the "next generation AGG", has recently filed for CCAA protection, (equivalent of Chapter 11). GEDEX was able to get support from a number of majors over the years and given the industries love of new tech, there are likely supporters of the GEDEX 'dream' who will step up to carry it along further. Lockheed Martin and Fugro were working on a new version of the Lockheed Martin technology a few years ago, but then corporate changes put this on hold it seems, presumably waiting for better times to carry this effort forward. As normal, exploration seldom lacks ideas but rather more often is the victim of the vagaries in funding which makes it very difficult for projects to achieve their potential.
