Regards/Ken Openings for Two Editors Announced Posted April 3, 2020 Opening for Editor of the Journal of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics <https://enengs.memberclicks.net/assets/images/JEEG/jeeg_cover2020.jpg> /> The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS) has a new opening for Editor of the Journal of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics (JEEG). JEEG is published quarterly and is a leading peer-reviewed scientific journal devoted specifically to the near surface geophysics community (Impact Factor: 1.52 - SCIMAGO, 1.39 - SCOPUS). JEEG welcomes manuscripts on new developments in near-surface geophysics applied to environmental, engineering, and mining issues, as well as novel case histories and descriptions of new equipment or software. Under the Editor's leadership, JEEG regularly publishes special issues focused on topics of particular interest to the near-surface geophysics community. As examples, there have been JEEG special issues for airborne geophysics, agricultural geophysics, time domain electromagnetics, and unexploded ordnance (UXO). The position is expected to begin late summer 2020 to allow the new JEEG Editor work with the existing JEEG Editor and transition to full responsibility for JEEG by January 2021. FastTIMES Editor-in-Chief Opening The Environmental and Engineering Geophysics Society (EEGS) has a new opening for the <https://enengs.memberclicks.net/assets/images/past-issues/FT%2024.4%20pic%2 04.jpg> position of FastTIMES Editor-in-Chief. FastTIMES is an electronic newsmagazine for the near-surface geophysical sciences, which has been published quarterly since 1998 and has a worldwide distribution. FastTIMES is devoted to showcasing novel uses of near-surface geophysics in a manner that is intended to be interesting to geophysicists as well as accessible to others who may be interested in using geophysics. Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief include choosing special topics for future issues with the FastTIMES team of associate editors, soliciting content for industry and foundation news, compiling lists of upcoming short courses, workshops, and conferences related to near-surface geophysics, proofing all content, and working with the EEGS staff to publish each issue. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign CS6 or Adobe InDesign CC is desirable, but not mandatory. The position is expected to begin late summer 2020 to allow the new FastTIMES Editor-in-Chief to work with the existing Editor-in-Chief and transition to full responsibility for FastTIMES by January 2021.
