Good Afternoon SEGMIN

As of the May 1, the SEG NSG organizing committee received 10 abstracts for
a workshop titled Summit on Drone Geophysics, a SEG Annual Meeting post
conference workshop to be held on October 16, 2020 in Houston, TX.

The organizing committee is planning on a traditional "gathering" style
workshop. However, due to the uncertainty brought about by COVID-19
pandemic, the committee is currently researching a number of innovative
options for conducting the workshop as a "virtual" or "on line" event.
The bottom line is that the Summit on Drone Geophysics will come to pass one
way or another.

The current list of presentation topics include

* drone magnetic surveys for mineral exploration in South America
* drone magnetic system for UXO
*       UAV GPR
*       Semi-airborne TEM
*       UAV gamma ray spectrometry
*       UAV magnetic data processing
* UAV EM for shallow investigations
* Seismic measurements from a UAV
* Testing a low cost drone magnetic survey system

The organizing committee is planning on 12 to 15 oral presentations with an
additional 10 poster presentations.

Thus the reason for this posting on the SEGMIN.

If you and\or your colleagues have experience with drone geophysical data,
drone geophysical technology, or UAV aviation technology applicable to
geophysical surveys, please consider contributing a presentation to the
workshop.

Or if you know of someone with knowledge and experience in the realm of UAV
geophysics, please forward this email to them.

Abstract submission information

The abstract should be one to two pages (i.e. approx. 300 words) in length
as an MS Word or PDF document file. Figures and photos are encouraged but
not required. In addition to the title and listing of authors along with
affiliation, the abstract should indicate the presenter along with email
address and contact telephone numbers, if more than one. In addition, a
note indicating the presentation preference (e.g. oral of poster) should be
included. Last, the file name should contain your name.

Please email the abstract to the attention of Laurie Whitesell
