Hello Seth,

Instead of using the PDCC option to save RESP files, I suggest you to obtain
the SEED response file with rdseed using this command:

[email protected]$> rdseed -Rf  DATALESS_FILE

The response file obtained using PDCC is ok, however, SeisAn needs a defined
format of the SEED response file, otherwise, it will fail to parse it. Please
take a look, for example, to the line 1854, the transfer function value
(B053F03) on the file LIB/sys_resp.for; you'll see the character that defines
the transfer function must be at column 52 (read function).

I hope this helps you.

Best regards,

Billy Burgoa

hola amigos SEISAN!

Musavvir,

You question is if "hyp.out  " can converted in this format?

Subject: [seisan] PDCC RESP file failure
To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>

Hi, everyone,

I built a RESP file (attached) using the IRIS tool
PDCC<http://www.iris.edu/dms/nodes/dmc/software/downloads/pdcc/>, but am having
problems with it in SEISAN.  I can use this file in SAC to remove the
instrument response, but when I attempt to convert my data into ground motion
in SEISAN (e.g. mulplt), it crashes with the following error:
At line 1821 of file sys_resp.for
Fortran runtime error: Bad value during integer read

Backtrace for this error:
#0  0x0000003a000ac824 in wait () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#1  0x00007f370a92300d in ?? () from /usr/lib64/libgfortran.so.3

#10 0x000000000042192f in MAIN__ ()
#11 0x0000000000422227 in main ()

It appears that the problem is that the RESP files that PDCC produces put the
response data into different columns than sys_resp.for expects.  Has anyone
experienced this problem and found a work-around?  I could write a code to
properly format the output of PDCC, but will leave that as a last resort.

Thank you!
Seth

Subject: [seisan] S-file line order
To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>

Hi all:

Buenas tardes.

I have been digging through Appendix 1 - The Nordic format of the Seisan
manual lately.

In what order do the lines have to come in the S-file? This is not clearly
stated in the manual and in the examples I notice that line "I" can come
before or after line "6". Is there are preferred order?

Kind Regards from Panama,

*Branden Christensen*
