I believe you can set up an .exe file as a Security exception in McAfee is you have administrator privileges. If you are lucky the security exception will be inherited by daughter processes.
I’m using Microsoft windows defender at the university. I have heard that in a more corporate environment that Remote Desktop is accessed by security admin types and they set the security exceptions somehow in McAfee. Glad you solved it.
