Actually, I'm looking at it right now and it's not clear if we don't want LocalSearch - it's most likely that we don't want a bubble to display a link and directions links that lead to Google Maps site, but having a list of reasults is still good - I mean it does geocoding in addition to the localsearch so all results are included.
I've made a prototype for the feature with two different callbacks - one on the click in the search result list and another one on result marker click: http://www.sergeychernyshev.com/SemanticGoogleMapsPrototype.html Check it out and let me know if this makes sense.
