Okay, that's very interesting. That takes care of one of my objections;
though I should note that Google Maps only seems to have support for about
10-15 languages; probably no chance that it'll ever support, say, Upper
Sorbian, for what that's worth.

I guess my only main concern now is that I don't know if the manual input
can be used. How would that work, given that the search mechanism places its
own markers on the map - would there be a separate "user marker"?
