That sounds like an error. If the pages include the template that the form was created for, the form should pick up the data correctly. I think you need to carefully check the name of the template that the form uses, and ensure it matches the template that you are actually using. Similarly you need to check that you are trying to use the right form to edit the page... how are you enabling the 'edit with form' functionality? are you sure you associated the page with the right form?
