I agree. English fallbacks should usually be helpful. Another option would be to allow users to explicitly make use of the English names only, which some of our users also had asked for some time ago. So it is not such a rare requirement ... We will have to think about how to implement this. Also thanks for the translation. When updating SMW, we will try to create stubs for all new or modified messages, adding a note "//TODO: translate" to the language files. In this way, translators should be able to update their language files easily.
