The new SMW version will simplify the numerical datatypes, and this is now
effective in SVN (not on ontoworld yet). Here are the changes:

* There is a new "Type:Number" (internal id "_num")
* "Type:Float" and "Type:Integer" go away, but they are still aliases in all
languages (possibly with their local names) so existing pages will still work
as before.
* The new "Type:Number" is basically an evolution of Type:Float, so there is
no "real" integer type available anymore. This just means that one cannot
disallow decimal digits in numbers, and that all numbers can have units.
* Units can now be simple links: [[length::300 [[miles]]]]. This feature may
need some testing first ...

The changes do not make much of a difference in how numbers (integer or not)
are handled internally, but you have to run SMW_refreshData.php at least once
with argument -p to update the types of your numerical properties. We hope
that "Number" is easier to understand than "Float" (I guess normal people
really *should* not understand the latter; it is probably even part of the
definition of "normal" in this context).

Currently broken in SVN (among other things ;):
* Support for "(main) display unit" annotations of properties. This will soon
work again, but slightly differently (updates follow).
* Support for service links of all kinds (including the links to maps). This
will also work again at some time.

Cheers,

Markus
