Our impression just was that the whole display unit feature is not used by so many wikis anyway. When we add aliases now, we will have to support them in perpetuity. So I suggest we wait until someone really complains about having too many unit-using properties to do the changes manually. Since "main display unit" now is a normal property, one can use its property page to find all articles that might need upgrade.
