Hey,

#semantic_google_map
is a parser function, not a query (as Yaron already remarked a rather
confusing name), and has been replaced with #display_point, which does
support the zoom= parameter without having to set a custom centre.

I've
also noticed the changing of the zoom when you click a marker on GE.
This is caused by the GE plug-in itself, and I don't know of any way to
solve it.

I recreated the problem with the 2d controls first
showing up (so no need to send a screen shot :), and will attempt to
fix this for the next release.

Apparently images as base layers for OpenLayers are in pretty high demand.
Although this makes it a higher priority, it won't be part of the 0.2 release -
some issues with the core functionality take precedence.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Cheers,
De Dauw '[RTS]BN+VS*' Jeroen

Subject: Re: [SMW-devel] Maps and Semantic Maps released

Thanks for the answer.

That seems odd though, since it was possible to set a zoom level with this
query for example :

{{#semantic_google_map:40.024707° N, 75.509739°
W|10|G_HYBRID_MAP|GSmallMapControl|pmap|200|200}}

where '10' is a value of zoom.

I am also getting zoom issues with Google Earth plugin.

I don't know if it is a glitch in the plugin itself - when I click on one of
several locations displayed from a semantic query, about 8 times out of 10,
Google Earth zooms way back to the planet view.

Another glitch to report regarding Google Earth.

It takes a couple of seconds for the plugin to start up, during which the
default 2D map and controls are displayed. Problem is - once the Earth controls
take over, a piece of the 2D controls is still visible at the bottom of the map
(this is because the 2D controls stick out a little out of the map with the
default size parameters).

I will send you a screenshot separately when I get back to my work laptop.

On another note, I just read about the possibility of non-geographical maps
(floorplans) and I am very excited about this :) An example or tutorial would
be great whenever that option becomes available. I have several floorplans I
have been dying to add to my SMW knowledge base.
