Ok, I understand!
They main reason for taking care of the transcoding myself is not the 
processing cycles used for transcoding. I'm not to worried about that 
(We have plenty nowadays :-)) The real reason is the (lack of control 
on) quality degradation in the transcoding process from signed linear 16 
bit 8 khz to G.711. Do you have any idea how SEMS performs in this area?
