Crown Princess Katherine donated £500,000 worth of medical supplies to
hospitals across the country to help fight the coronavirus pandemic. The
donation included electric beds, mattresses and medical equipment which were
sent to 17 hospitals throughout Serbia.

In a statement, Princess Katherine said: “Doctors and nurses are risking their
lives to save lives; we need to help them. They are our heroes.” She added: My
husband and I thank very much Dr Douglas Jackson, C.E.O. of Project C.U.R.E
which has been helping the Princess Katherine Foundation in Serbia for several
years. It is very important, especially at this time considering what heroic
doctors, nurses and medical staff have gone through due to the coronavirus
risking their lives to help people and to save lives.”

Throughout the pandemic, the Serbian royals have done their utmost to raise
money for the Serbian health care system, and they have donated medical
supplies several times over the last few months.

In 1993, Crown Princess Katherine founded the Lifeline Humanitarian
Organisation which currently has offices in Chicago, New York, Toronto, London
and Athens. This organisation, together with the HRH Crown Princess Katherine
Foundation, works to collect money for medical equipment that has been
delivered to numerous hospitals in Serbia.
