According to him, the boycott is counterproductive. "Moreover, opposition parties have such different views on key issues, they are not cohesive and therefore have no chance of succeeding. A truly democratic opposition must learn the lessons of 20 years ago and unite with a common, strong message. Until that happens, they have no chance of success", he said. According to Montgomery, the fact that they refer to problems with the media and other similar issues is just an excuse for their weakness.
