OSCE Mission presents report on detention on remand in Kosovo courts
PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 24 October 2023 – The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will present its latest trial monitoring report on detention on remand in a press conference in Prishtinë/Priština tomorrow. The report analyses 70 detention hearings across Kosovo for compliance with international human rights and fair trial standards. It identifies issues with application of detention on remand and offers specific recommendations for the relevant institutions. During this event, participants will learn about key findings of the report and hear remarks from senior representatives of the Kosovo justice system. Ambassador Michael Davenport, Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Justice Minister Albulena Haxhiu, Kosovo Judicial Council Chairperson Albert Zogaj, Supreme Court President Fejzullah Rexhepi, and Prosecutor Sevdije Morina will deliver opening remarks followed by and a Q&A session.
