I would check to make sure that your plug wires are
good.  Make sure that the metal prongs are properly
connected to the wires, on the end which connects to
the dist cap.  I had the exact same problem when I
washed my engine 4 months back.  I had a set of
defective Vi-Tek wires.  The spraying of the water
some how knocked the metal prong loose.  As a result I
had a missfire in cylinder #2.  My car would fire up,
sometimes sound perfect, then when I went to drive it
it was sluggish and back fire, hesitate then stall!
