hey all!!!
I just went to an import drag last night, for the first time! Man it was
cool! There wasn't a whole lot of imports though. There was only six of us.
The money was only like $100, but then again this is in Missouri, and the
import scene around Springfield is just starting. I see a lot of nice "show
and no go" cars, mainly spoiled high schoolers with nothing better to do
with mommy's money. They think that their car can whoop anybody. It's a
whole different story when you get them out on the track. Like last night
for instance, there was my '94 Sentra SE, with no mods other than a K&N
filter. A bad '94 300ZX TT, man he was fast, five speed, intake and exhaust
mods that was it. Then there was this 80 something RX-7, he was fast as
well. A 90 something Celica GT-S, with an auto(yuck!!!), he was sooooo slow!
A 94 Prelude, he had everything, intake, exhaust, rims & tires, ground
effects...everything. And last but not least was my friend Kelly with his
'89 Accord with a 2.0 SOHC, not too shabby.
Needless to say the 300ZX dominated the night. I think his fastest time
was like 11.293 or something. Then there was the Prelude, he ran in the low
13's. The RX-7 ran in the low 12's. The Celica, mid 15's. My friends Accord,
mid 14's. Then of course was my time, man I was impressed, to say the
least...
Here goes how about a time of 14.4397 @ 71.87mph? Does that sound right
to anybody? I'm thinking if this is right than my car would be faster than a
stock Integra GS-R. Doesn't seem right, but oh well guess I'll live with it.
If any one has any ideas as to what it might have been or anything let
me know. I was running stock tires on stock steel rims, my tire pressure was
at 23.5 in the front. The time seems pretty fast for just a 1.6 with only
the intake mod. Maybe their timers were off, or were they?.......
