Sorry hear about that man. But I'd suggest you don't drive around your
neighbourhood block with the sub booming. Avoid the temptation of showing
off near the house. Thats pratically advertising to these punks you have
something worth stealing. Chances are they might even comeback after you got
the insurance money and installed the system again. Reminds me of that
Trans Am I saw with a huge Alpine banner across the back.
Where did you have the car parked?
Did you have the detachable faceplate removed? Did you use a back strap on
your headunit? Try if at all possible to use unusual fasteners like
Roberston or Allen head. I wouldn't use the Phillips head screws that come
with the amps.
Make sure everything thing is secured! I don't mean just screwing it down to
MDF but make sure its bolted to metal. Use weird size nuts and bolts and
make it hard to access. Make sure if they are going to steal it they have
one heck of a time removing it.
Get a hood lock!
No point in having an alarm if they can pop the hood, snip the siren wire
and kill the alarm. Your neighbours and even you would probably think it was
maybe just a cat that hopped onto the car and set the thing off.
Avoid alarm system stickers, all it does is give experienced thieves a clue
what they will be encountering once they are in the car.
I'd try to keep the car looking as stock as possible from the outside.
I wouldn't even use a flashing LED in the car. Besides, if you have an alarm
you must probably have something worth securing in the car.

Anyone got anything else that want to add?
I guess I could do a passive starter relay disable article on SOLM using a
hidden switch someday. You would need to press and hold a hidden microswitch
as you crank to start the car.
