You don't have to cut the shield. Mine never rattles. You just have to
make a groove deep enough when you bang at it. Why'd you have to take the
boot off? I didn't have to take the boot off. Just follow the instructions
on SE-R.net and it will work perfect. This was the most effortless and
uneventfall install for me. Nothing went wrong.
