The continuing saga of the second SE-R to make the finals of a major event
and the first 200SX.

After the confusion with the quirky timing equipment and the weird burnout
rules, the NDRA officials finally posted the results this morning. We had
hoped to be as high as 4th place but ended up being 8th after the mess was
sorted out. Failures of the timing equipment seems to be the order of the
day.

Ben ran another 7.4 in this mornings warm up with an improved 1.8 60 foot
time. The traction compound we made last night seems to be helping to fight
the weird burnout rules. Now the rule is you have to burn out on a steel
plate and can roll past the plate but no dry hops.

The boost is going to go up for the first round of eliminations. Ben
seceded against Jackson Racing's supercharged Civic so I think he will make
it to the second round hopefuly as he is much faster than that car.

They fixed the mph lights now so the MPH is not too wacky. Ben did a 105
mph this morning which was one of the higher trap speeds but Ron Berganhotlz
did a 110! Ben is at 7.4@105, Ron Berganholz who was the fastest this
morning is at 7.1@110.

Ben feels that there is a bit to go with his driving. The car has so much
more power than before, first and second come up as fast as he can shift so
he has been banging the rev limiter hard. Ben feels that if he can get used
to that, he can shave off perhaps a few tenths. The car is running real
hard

Stay tuned.

Mike
