I feel that for the most part we have a "topic of the day". Today it
seems to be this new CAI that Mike K. is working with.
I agree that some of the topics are beat into the ground. I am sure that
I made more than one post about a subject that had already been talked
about when I first got here, and will probably make more. The technology
is changing for our cars, and eventually these abused subjects may
reserface as new topics with new answers.
As far as the bashing goes, this is a mental thing for ppl. They are
marking their territory, flexing their mental muscles, or simply blowing
off steam from having the subject beat to death from previous posts.
When you deal with an online community, you may have someone who is not
the "leader" in the real world try to act like he tuff guy online b/c
there is nothing stopping him/her. Personally, this is a center of
amusement for me, b/c it adds character to our list. Those who become
offended by it and leave miss out on a lot of things that this list
offers. Those who stay, reap the benifits of staying.
No matter how anyone looks at the bashing, there is no stopping it
unless someone is willing to filter each message individually. We have
our "out spoken" members; we have our "bullies"; we have our "gurus".
All of these things make us what we eventually hope to be.....friends.
It may sound stupid when putting it this way, but ll of us are here to
talk about our cars and be accepted by our peers. In the end, we gain
knowledge, build friendships, and make memories, which is what it's all
about anyways.
That's my 2 cents.
NOW BACK TO THE BASHING.... WOOOHOOO!!!!
