Well guys, there's some hope I can save my Primera from that accident...
Now that my girl seems to be better, I looked around the car, took off
some broken parts, and it doesn't look so terrific. There will be some
serious body work (stuff at front, left suspension tower, B pillar
pulling/straightening, windshield replacement), that should be entrusted
to a pro, but then I can do the other things myself.
I popped the left halfshaft back in, freed the clutch mechanism from the
junk pushed onto it, started up the engine and drove a few meters forth
and back in our garden. :) Felt good. Oh the nostalgies....
I'll go to a good body shop tomorrow and ask them about the repairs. If
they say it can be done so the car will be 100% in alignment again,
without loss of rigidity, I'll let them fix it. Let's hope for the
best...
Ugh, and let's hope they won't take back my driving license, since I was
at fault at the accident. Well I didn't notice a sign in time, that's
it. A truck was parking in a bad location, so I could only notice it
when it was too late. Now I can't find anyone who has seen that truck,
so I'm out of luck with that. If they accept my word without witnesses,
then I'll be OK license-wise too... Hell knows.
cheers,
Laszlo
