I just installed the bushing a few hours ago with the help of my father and
the total install took maybe 35 minutes. Of course, Pops is pretty handy
with a wrench...

I agree 100%. The bushing is really cheap and does make a very real
difference in reducing shifter slop. Like Terrin said, the stick just
*clicks* into place. Very precise feel, and, though I have not yet tried, I
bet it will reduce missed shifts during "spirited driving" sessions. I think
I paid $7 and change for the bushing from Courtesy, so if you are ordering
something, go ahead and get the bushing, even if you still have the stock
shifter. Just be prepared for a tedious install.
