We'll I have some interesting info. about the KYB AGX's. This is an
experience based opinion so read at your own risk!
Now that the politics are out of the way I have some info. to share about
the AGX's. I was under the assumption that the AGX's would improve 1/4 mile
times because they would allow you to stiffen up the rear suspension and
help with the launch. And while my 60FT times were prety good my 1/4 mile
times were consistantly slower overall. I added the AGX's and the UR pulley
and was unable to duplicate my best ever 1/4 mile time before I had those
parts. Granted there are other variables that come in to play, this seems
wierd. I attributed it to the warmer temp. and the fact that I had more gas
in my car. However after I went to the strip last night with 2 friends of
mine, I now think otherwise. Both of my friends added the AGX's and other
parts and were unable to match their best timeslips as well! One even added
drag radials and was .1 slower than his previous best time (before the
addition of these mods). And his 60' times were killer! They were low 2.2
and even a 2.1. I don't understand it. How could you be more effective at
getting the power to the ground and wind up with a slower ET? Anyone care
to comment or have lots of drag racing exp.? I want thoughts on this. Would
shimming the springs help?
