I thought lighter flywheel should free up some horsepower since they are
almost the same as lighter pulleys which are on the other side of the
engine. If lightening the stock crank pulley 3 lbs gives 6hp, why not the
flywheels which drops like 8lbs in weight? Unorthodox claims that most of
the hp increase is not due to underdriving and that 85% of the increase is
actually due to reduced weight. Also if the flywheel enables the engine to
rev up quicker, shouldn't you get quicker ets. for a stock if it takes
16secs to hit redline on third gear, then with the lighter flywheels, you
should be able to rev to the same point at 15.5seconds. So for the same
amount of time, you will be going at a faster pace than with the stock
flywheels... kind of confusing.......
