Hi All,

I am having a detonation problem when the outside
temp goes over 85 degrees. I always use premium gas
and usually use octane booster with it. I've been
doing all the maintenance such as changing oil, plugs,
clean the air filter, even replaced the fuel filter.
I
had the advanced timing (10degrees) but since I had
that problem I adjusted timing back to 8 degrees. I
went to one of the local performance shop to get my
car
checked out but it showed nothing. They told me
everything is in good shape and they have no idea why
my engine was knocking. I was thinking about all the
possible reasons for that problem and I thought about
my modified air box. Maybe it is sucking the hot
air from the engine and causing the detonation. Could
this happen even I use super high octane with stock
8 degree timing? By the way, this problem goes away
if the outside temp is cool. If someone have any
idea please help me.

Thanks
Yosuke C.
