Do not remove the top of the dash (and do not remove the glass).
The trick is to disconnect the speedometer cable at the other end (under the
hood). Do not disconnect it fully, just loosen it until it allows pulling out
the instrument block (screws removed of course) so you can reach behind it and
unclip the speedometer cable (push it firmly from the side and pull). Then you
can pull the panel out (watch out for the electro harness).
Be careful not to pull out the speedometer cable fully, just 2-3 inches.
Btw. where can I get those small plastic housings where the instrument bulbs
sit into ? all the dealers sent me to the junkyard for them.
