We tested the Hotshot Header today with good results, the header made an
impressive 6 more peak hp with a gain of 8 hp at 5500 rpm. Even at 1500 rpm
it still made 1 more hp, losing no hp anywhere in the rev range.

The JWT ECU was very impressive also producing 2 more peak hp but really
fatening up the powerband producing 10 more hp in the 5000-5500 RPM range.
The ECU really increses the usable hp, gets rid of the speed limiter and
bumps the rev limiter to 7300 rpm. Throttle response is much better also,
much better than advanced stock timing.

Advancing the timing 5 degrees from stock gave 1/2 more peak hp but incresed
mid range power by about 6 at 5500 rpm, a pretty good gain for free. You
cannot do this with a JWT ECU as the advance is built into the ECU.

I am very pleased with how the GA16 responds to minor cheap mods. The car
now puts out 108 hp and 107 ft lbs of torque to the wheels vs the somewhat
anemic 92 hp and 89 ft lbs of torque it made stock. This is 16 hp and 18 ft
lbs more torque to the wheels with just simple bolt on's. The GA ought to
have enough juice to go toe to toe with most civics and other cars in its
class except for Si and SE-R's. Another point is the dyno we are using is
conservative and puts out 3-5 less hp than other dynos.

I will be testing camshafts, throttle bodies and NOS soon.

Mike
