I am not sure what type of rubbing sound you are referring to. It is at rubber
sound or metal sound??
if you are getting metal grinding sounds, make sure your rotors are ok also...if
you changed the pads thats great but the rotors need to have a certain thicknedd
also..I forget the measure ment.
Also check your bearings, maybe the bearings are going and if so then you need
to change it.
check your CV boot and see if it is torn. the CV boot needs to be there filled
with grease. If it is torn or not there then you mey have damaged the CV joint
and needs to be replaced.
also realize that sometimes the caliper pistons of your fron brake can go bad
and they stick or do not release and you are constantly rubbing your pads on the
rotors. So i would check the rotor thickness first. then the above diagnostics.
also you do have a gear box AKA transmission..he he he
If it was your transmission, you would have difficulty shifting and changing
gears and maybe even putting it into gear. So i would not say it is the
transmission at this point.
The main thing is for you to relax first. Go step by step and see if it is one
of the problems above. You acn also take it to pep boys and have them check it
and give you an estimate. But you do not need to have them do the repair. Just
find out what it is and say that yo will have to come back after you get the
money straigh. Works for me all the time...he he he :-)
I get a rubber rubbing sound when I slow down to park but that is the tires
squeaking..I don't know what to say..If I was there and heard it maybe I could
give a better answer. I hope this gives you some help.
Good luck
