I just went to a scca solo II event a couple of weeks ago and the majority 
of the fast cars were corvettes. But it wasn't a very tight course so the 
vettes were able to fly around the track. However, hp doesn't always mean 
you'll win. The fastest vehicle there wasn't even a car. It was some sort of 
oversized go-kart with racing tires and a snowmobile engine and NO 
suspension!
