I was conducting most of the tests at the SERCA dyno day and there was no A
to B comparison of the Place Racing CAI vs the Hotshot so I don't understand
where you got that conclusion. Luis Molina was experimenting with MAF
location on his own, homemade Scott Shot intake but no one did a test on The
Place vs Hotshot or anything like that.
Personaly my car got a bigger gain from the Place Racing intake than any car
has on a Hotshot but that is probably because how my motor is. On a typical
motor, it is about the same gain between the two. When we were doing dyno
testing to determine the best CAI configuration for the SR20, we tested
close to the configuration of both intakes and found fundamentaly no
difference in power on the dyno.
For the SR it comes down to what you want, the Place intake can be had with
an adaptor so you can use the excellent JWT POP with it but the Hotshot
comes in chrome with colored hose couplers.
On the SR20, I don't think there is much of a difference between the two.
On the GA16, Mike Saiki and I were involved in the design of the Hotshot
specificaly for the GA16 and found that the stepped diameter pipe was best
on the dyno.
I don't have any A to B data for the Hotshot vs Place Racing CAI for the
GA16 either. We just fiddled around on the dyno to get the best
configuration with the Hotshot.
You are stating your opinion like it was fact but don't have the data. It
is ok to give your opinions and reasons why you have that opinion but don't
present your opinion as a fact.
