The reason 2nd gear grinds on so many cars is that the synchros eventually
wear out and become less and less effective. It doesn't matter if you have
MT-90 or AMSOIL product in the tranny like I do.
2nd is usually what people use when turning round a corner in the city so it
gets used alot. I suggest people learn how to rev match and downshift so you
don't put so much wear and tear on them.
My tranny has been grinding when cold in 2nd since the day I got it.
I guess the previous oner didn't know how to drive stick OR maintain cars.
