<<i have a kenwood deck with a 4v preout a kenwood graphic equallizer, a
kenowod 6 disc changer, Aura front and rear speakers, 2 12" JL audio
subs in the back and 2 of these amps>>
Sounds like a nice system, but your link for the amps does not work for
me. I think my internet connection is just slow tonight, but for the
sake of the archives, do you mind posting what these amps are?
<<I was looking at getting these amps
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-8k3eSBtryUA/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=110&;I=113KACX301&o=&a=0>>
<<is it worth the money?>>
Again, without being able to see what you are talking about, I am afraid
I can't answer this question.
<<and will it make that much more of a better, louder sound quality>>
Generally, in my experience, sound has a threshold for how much volume
effects sound quality. After a certain point, the volume of the music is
distorted, whether you have distortion in the speakers or not.
In most cases, I would think that a good, loud system consists of many
"sound cleaning" componants, each one adding to how loud the volume can
be turned up w/o sound, or speaker, distortion.
Deck--> passive EQ--> active/passive RTA EQ--> Active cross-over-->
Amplifier(s)--> passive cross-over-->speaker/passive cross-over-->
speaker
This is the basic design that my last big system had. I could max the
volume out with no distortion at all, but good listening volume was far
below this level.
<<also i was thinking of making my whole stereo system in my car all
kenwood>>
IMHO, bad idea.
<<im pretty sure they have good speakers, are there subs good?>>
Do you plan to compete?
<<or better than my JL audio ones?>>
Most definately not, but you are asking an opinion question here. Your
JLs are an asset, don't give them up.....especially not for Kenwoods.
<<what do you guys use when cleaning your enginge for shows and stuff?
just water? anything else? thanks>>
Simply Green is a great degreaser for the engine bay. Also, the "Tire
cleaner" that is at the pressure washers is good.
If you use a pressure washer, make sure that you keep the engine running
while you are washing it. This should burn off any water that seeps into
the engine. Otherwise your afternoon will be spent re-starting your car
1k times :-(
As a side note: I could have wrote a post that would take an hour to
read, but this subject has been discussed before and I have given more
indepth reasons for not choosing one brand, etc.
Look in the archives for all the stereo subject you can find. Kenichi,
Wes, and I (and I'm sure a couple others) have covered just about
everything you can think of in the last couple of months, so you may try
our names in your search.
Good luck and keep us posted. I love watching big systems being built
:-)
