<<For about 3K, you can almost make the SE as fast as a stock SE-R.
Part of that 3K difference though to me goes to purchasing a car with
FAR more potential than the SE.>>

This is the reasoning that I gave my Si friend for going to a "better
abled" car. You can take something like a 1.6L or 1.8L Honda motor well
over 300 hp (according to him), but with a used 3kGT, a 300 ZXTT, you
can go well beyond the 300hp w/o thinking twice, and still spend roughly
the same amount of money.

The difference is when you dump Mo-Lot-Sta-$ in the motor of the Si, it
will be strung way the hell out with nothing left to give and putting
out what?....600hp? Importing a Skyline engine to dump into a 300 ZX
should bring you into the 800hp range (I've seen a 1100hp Skyline on the
cover of SCC), which I would hope would offset the difference in weight.

At any rate, I don't plan on getting this serious about driving hp #'s
up. I just want something fun to drive that looks sporty and is fast. A
3kGT might be bought for the right price, but I'll probably be buying a
AWD Eclipse turbo or a Celica GT-S.

My 200 will be my toy, and if I have it long enough, it will probably
see a 2.0L one day, but for now, that's not in my plans.
