I have a 95 Nissan Sentra GXE. Has 78K miles on it. About six months ago,
I noticed once that BOTH the battery and the brake warning lights came on
momentarily. Had it checked out at AutoZone and Sears. Tests said both
battery and charging system were GOOD!
The problem suddenly vanished and never showed up all of summer. In the
last month it has come back and the lights have been coming on more and more
often. Both the lights come on simultaneously.
Called a dealer and he said it is the alternator. I checked the SML
archives, and it seems to point to the same thing. In the meantime, I got a
new battery, and changed the drive belts. Now, I am thinking of replacing
the alternator. Any suggestions ??
