I'll bet where you live the weather has turned a lot colder and if that's so
unless your using a multi weight oil it (the oil) is not getting pumped up to
the top of the engine and is causing the problem, if your are using a multi
weight oil I'd guess you getting some miles on the engine and the clearances
in things like the oil pump are starting to open up just enough that its
causing just enough of a problem that it can't pump the oil fast enough when
the engine is cold to fill up all the voids in the engine until things get
warmed up, I wouldn't worry to much about it unless the noise is really bad,
once the engine gets up to operating temp the engine parts in the valve train
expand and fill the gap and things get close to speck again and the noise
goes away, or you may just need a valve lash adj. when was the last time you
adj.ed the valves? Or it could be a combo effect where just a little big of
each is adding to the problem, how often are you changing the oil and filter?
If you check your valves and there OK and your changing the oil and filter at
least every 3000 miles or sooner then just let the car idle a little more in
the mornings when you first start it up and take it easy on the gas pedal for
the first couple of blocks.
