Because you perceive that Japanese nationals are "above" all that does not
give you any justification in using that word. You are wrong. The word Jap
is very offensive to Japese nationals also. Your statment shows how little
of Japanese culture you really understand. Japanese might not show any
reaction out of politeness but belive me, they don't think that is cool.
Jap is just as bad as calling Blacks Niggers, Jews Kikes, Mexicans Beaners,
Whites Honkeys and whatever. Don't even try to justifiy yourself to me that
it is ok because you think it's harmless, it is not.
If you even read my post, I said that if someone said that with insulting
intent, I would take that as fighting words as would most people. Even the
most even tempered people amoung us would probably be quitely hurt.
If you want to get anywhere in this world, you should be more respectful of
other races and don't use that sort of vocabulary wheather you think it's
insulting or not, it is not your intent that is important, it is how people
perceve it. If you add racial slurs to your vocabulary, it can immediatly
label you as a bigot to many people, not good for first impressions wheather
you mean to insult or not. Your immediate health may depend on it.
