The trick to replacing the fuel filter is this.
We know how the rubber hose tends to bond itself to the filter right? Use a
plier and grasp the rubber hose right above the fuel filter, then twist. You
should feel the rubber break free, then twist and pull,  twist and pull.
When the hose is ready to come off, wrap a rag around the fuel line and let
it soak up any gas that comes out. Same for the other end.
