My Personal Note: I sure hope Nissan is planning on Keeping up with HONDA.

Good-bye old Acura. Hello BMW. If folks at Acura have their way, you'll be
comparing Acura cars more and more with those from German performance
automaker BMW. Acura's message comes across with three new models being shown
at the NAIAS 2001. Due to be unveiled for the first time is the Acura RS-X, a
prototype of the replacement for the current Integra. Slated to go on sale
later this year, the RS-X hatchback will feature more aggressive styling,
higher performance (including Acura's first use of its iVTEC engine
technology}, and more upscale amenities than Integras of the past. Keep in
mind the new model will complete the shift in Acura's naming convention—away
from formal word names such as Legend, Vigor and Integra and toward an
alphanumeric nomenclature. Also on display in Detroit will be more powerful
2002 versions of the Acura RL and 3.2TL. Specifically, the 3.2TL Type S will
debut with a 260-horsepower engine, which Acura says is the most powerful in
its class. One final note: Acura's display at NAIAS is in a new location. In
keeping with the trend in Detroit to put all of an automaker's brands
together, the Acura display is now adjacent to Honda. Acura is Honda's luxury
brand.
