"Yeah I know it was all my fault. "
- Right there is the admission of guilt...
I don't know how I could of misshifted like that. I've raced so
many times before and damn... this is impossible!!!.
- OK... so you screwed up and now you have to pay for your mistake... You
are lucky that all you did was blow an engine... Maybe you shouldn't be
racing your car in the first place. There is a lesson to be learned here
and it's simple... if you can't afford the admission to the club, maybe you
shouldn't join. If you can't afford to fix your engine when you screw it up
racing, then you shouldn't be racing it in the first place. AND YES....
it's possible to screw up when you race and lose more than just a car. You
could lose your life... or TAKE someone elses....
Stupid long truck
shifter has got in my way a few times before when I was pushing the cars to
the limit at the twisties when heel toeing.
- So this is not the first time you noticed that you had problems
shifting... so why continue to race and risk screwing up the car. If you
aren't comfortable with the shifter... then change it... don't just race
your car and not care if it's set up right.
Do you guys think whether I blew the engine or the starter? Luckily my car
is still under warranty so I can bring it to the dealer but I'm not going to
tell them it's because I made a mistake. Any tips on what I should tell
them?
- Lucky for you it's under warranty... not for Nissan. If i were the
Service manager at your dealership... and i could prove you screwed the car
up i would DENY you any coverage. It's time that you learned a lesson.
THIS IS NOT INSURANCE FRAUD... it's just down right being Dishonest. You
screwed up... now pay the price. Otherwise you haven't learned a lesson...
You'll just screw up your next engine when you get it put in... and the
worst part of the whole thing... Nissan has to give you that new engine and
pay for the mechanic to replace the engine. I bet you will think twice
about racing it again if you have to shell out the money for that new
engine.
