Take it to an independent shop and see what kind of estimate they give you
and if it matches what the dealership told you (they have a habit of
bitching about mods and overcharging you for stuff you don't really need).
I bought the extended warranty to 100,000 miles and it says the only things
that are voided in the warranty are if they are explicitly due to any
modification (or racing...).
