I test drove a WRX with my girlfriend yesterday, and it blew me away!!! It was only a
test drive, but let's just say that I-394 running through Minneapolis will never be
the same again. But, that is a distant dream (3 years or so). I hope that this car
spurs a whole new market. The dealership I went to said that they had already sold 29
WRX's, with 10 more on order. Just think, maybe Mitsubishi will bring over the
Lancer, or maybe Dodge will used the Lancer drivetrain in a Neon R/T-X. But, as far
as I can tell, the only other thing that is in the Subaru's class (pricewise) is an
Audi A4 1.8t Quattro, but it is quite underpowered. I am looking forward to the SE-R,
but I choose not to compare it to the Subaru. It is roughly $7000 cheaper, thus
making it a different class.
I also hit the Minneapolis/St. Paul carshow, and there were some pretty neat things
there. Sadly, Nissan didn't have the SE-R there. Ford had that bad-ass Focus there,
and had a special stand for the engine and such. Some very nice Miata's were on hand,
and TRD had a hot Celica and MR-2 there.
Anyways, that was my spring break. Later.
