How uch mileage do you have on the car? I bet you've never cleaned the
throttlebody or any of the idle management devices either.
I'd first clean the throttlebody out, check the FICD is working and then
maybe the AIC valve while you are at it.
Who ever told him to ge a whole new AC, dude... That is BAD advice.
