Not that long ago I wrote you guys asking for any helpful input on my 5 speed '87 Sentra. I am still having little to no success. I just got back from a short (about 30 min. there and back) drive where she stalled on me twice and sputtered a few times as well. I had my dad (quite useful in case of pushing my car,) and a small squirt bottle of fuel along for the ride. The first tme she stalled my dad used the fuel, and she reluctantly started back up. The second time I discovered a delayed reaction; I had the throttle all the way to the floor upon starting, and then when the engine kicked over I released the pedal but I could here it rev. I repeated this a couple of times and felt/heard the same delay.
I have not yet put in the new EGR system; it may or may not be the problem. I put in new spark plug connectors, radiator, adjusted the clutch--no new one yet, corrected the timing, and a few other minor modifications.
Someone suggested resetting the computer--I saw no brass box, or anything of the sort. Any other place it could be hiding, or any other ideas? Could it be a loose wire in the ignition? My brother suggested that after he did a test drive and said he jiggled the key and it stopped chugging. Although I believe I tried that as well and it did not work.
Please, anyone who has any ideas--I welcome them. I am about to give up and take her to the dealer in hopes they will know what is going wrong.
Thanks -Erica-
