Erica,, had the same prob on my 87' Sentra Wagon... It turned out to be 2
probs.. First off drive it and when it stalls jump out and look at the fuel
filter on the firewall to see if there is fuel in it or if its dry as a bone.
if its dry then the fuel pump is most likely on its way out.. on my 87 it
seemed it would drive fine all day but when you shut it off for 30 mins and
went back to drive it, the fuel pump would no longer pump fuel so it would
run off of whats left in the carberautor and thats it.

The 2nd prob I had was the distributor.. NISSAN had a huge prob with these
things going bad,, and among the most common prob was the oil seal would leak
allowing oil to get into the distributor,, you should take off the cap and
rotor and inspect it for oil,, BUT most importantly pull off that metal
inspection cover under the rotor and look to see if there is oil in there.
What would happen is the oil would get into the EYE of the wheel (you'll see
what I'm talking about) and cause the computer to not fire the ignition.

I have not caught all your posts but would love to try to help you out.
