Especially new onset AF without any history From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Thursday, December 27, 2012 8:03 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: Re: [Sepsis Groups] Tachycardia and Atrial Fibrillation
It might be a problem as a screening criteria especially if you have a robust cardiac population; however, new onset AF is seen among Septic patients as I have found in our data set. I do recall reading about AF in Sepsis in a published paper but can’t recall the author. There is published data out there on this topic. He felt this may give some false positive for meeting two SIRS criteria for sepsis. Have you found this a problem?
